Ingrian and GeoTrust Join Forces to Offer a Complete Web Application Security Solution.

Emerging Leaders in the Security Space Partner

November 5, 2002 — Redwood City, CA — Ingrian™ Networks, the leader in Active Application Security solutions, and GeoTrust Inc. (www.geotrust.com), a leader in identity and security solutions for e-business and the second largest certificate authority, today announced a partnership to provide organizations with an end-to-end security solution for Web applications.

Ingrian Networks provides Active Application Security solutions consisting of extensible, rack-mounted hardware, coupled with optional software service engines that protect Web-based business applications and data in transit and in storage, within the enterprise and across the Internet. Ingrian products offload processor-intensive SSL operations - as well as related key management, certificate administration, content encryption, and access management functions — from Web servers.

"We believe GeoTrust's automated authentication system is one of the most advanced in the industry," said Rod Murchison, VP of Product and Corporate Development at Ingrian Networks. "Now customers and trading partners can receive QuickSSL Premium™ Web server certificates via the Ingrian platform quickly, and ensure that they are only issued to fully authorized recipients."

Under the terms of the agreement, Ingrain will offer a QuickStart Certificate Program to its' customers which consists of a coupon for a free GeoTrust QuickSSL Premium SSL certificate. The partnership will provide customers with a fast and efficient method for generating secure, 128-bit SSL encrypted certificates. Companies running Web applications that require digital certificates can now generate their request for GeoTrust certificates on the Ingrian hardware platform, and with GeoTrust's patent-pending authentication technology, receive a signed certificate in 10-minutes or less - as opposed to the normal timeframe of three to five days. The certificate is then installed and stored on the tamper-resistant Ingrian platform to ensure the protection of the certificate.

"QuickSSL Premium assures companies that their online users' transactions that include credit card account numbers and other confidential information cannot be viewed, intercepted, or altered," said Neal Creighton, President and CEO of GeoTrust. "Ingrian Networks is a rapidly emerging leader in the security space and we are excited to partner with them to offer organizations a complete security solution for web applications.

In addition to the QuickStart Certificate Program, Ingrian and GeoTrust executed a joint referral agreement whereby the two companies will co-operatively market their respective offerings. Ingrian's Active Application Security solutions for data encryption, user authentication, secure Web-based email access, intrusion protection, and Web application protection can be leveraged to offer GeoTrust a mechanism for delivering certificates, boosting the value of these offerings to common customers. The combination of the companies' respective offerings will benefit current and future customers, as well as creating new growth opportunities for both companies.
