GeoTrust Appoints John Adams Chief Technology Officer
Former CTO of RSA Security Brings Deep
Experience in Enterprise Information Security to Leading
Digital Certificate and E-Business Security Provider

authority, today announced the appointment of John
Adams to the position of chief technology officer.
Adams will be responsible for building out the company's
technology vision, particularly in enterprise managed
security, and guiding it as it enters new markets.
He will also help GeoTrust further its already strong
position in the Internet security and Web identity
markets. Adams previously held the positions of CTO
and senior vice president of engineering at RSA Security,
a leader in authentication and encryption products,
and leadership positions at Digital Equipment Corporation.

Adams brings more than 25 years of security and
product management experience to GeoTrust. He spent
five years at RSA Security in the positions of CTO
and senior vice president of engineering. During that
period, he oversaw the technical strategy of the company
and managed RSA Laboratories, RSA's research and advanced
development arm. During his tenure as senior vice
president of engineering, he grew the group from 30
employees to more than 250 worldwide.
Adams also held several leadership positions during
his 20-year career at Digital Equipment Corporation,
including technical director of network integration
software, vice president of network operating systems
and vice president of network systems. Adams received
a B.A. in mathematics from Harvard University, B.S.
and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from Tufts University,
and a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology.
