Tucows Partners with GeoTrust to Provide Enhanced Internet Security Solutions

Leading Domain Name Registrar and Second Largest Certificate Authority to Offer E-commerce Authentication and Transaction Security through Global Network of Resellers

July 9, 2002 - Toronto, Canada and Wellesley, MA - Tucows Inc. (OTCBB: TCOW), a leading provider of Internet services to ISPs and Web hosting companies, and GeoTrust, Inc. (www.geotrust.com), a leader in next-generation identity and security solutions for e-business and the world's second largest certificate authority, today announced a strategic partnership to deliver secure e-commerce transactions, identity verification and trust authentication services through Tucows' network of more than 5,000 resellers worldwide.

Under the terms of the agreement, Tucows will offer GeoTrust's QuickSSL™, True Site™ and True BusinessID™ solutions through its reseller network. On July 3, 2002, Tucows began offering GeoTrust's True BusinessID, a standard (or traditional) SSL certificate and identity product. The launch of QuickSSL and True BusinessID Wildcard is planned for the fourth quarter of 2002.

The partnership provides Tucows' resellers with a variety of security product offerings, beginning with GeoTrust's True BusinessID, a combination solution of traditional SSL certificates and the True Site offering. The True Site product ensures a site's legitimacy with a dynamically generated time/date stamp that cannot be copied. Also available to Tucows' resellers will be GeoTrust's True BusinessID Wildcard solution that secures multiple Web sites with one SSL certificate, and its QuickSSL product, which offers commercial quality, 128-bit SSL digital certificates in as little as 10 minutes. SSL is the technology that activates the lock symbol in a user's browser by encrypting communications between Web browsers and servers.
