How Do My Customers Become A Registered Member?
To become a Verified Domain Registered Member site and display the site seal, customers complete an online verification process that uses the same seamless fully-automated authentication and issuance process as our SSL certificates -- using real-time, two-factor telephone authentication and business registration (DUNS number equivalent). GeoTrust partners simply submit the required information about a customer’s site and its ownership via GeoCenter or via an API hosted directly on their site. Once a customer’s domain has been verified and they become a Registered Member, they’ll get the ability to display a dynamically generated Verified Domain seal -- a globally recognized symbol that shows that a web site has been through a third-party authentication process from GeoTrust. Because our automated authentication system is the most advanced in the industry, customers can be certain that Verified Domain Site seals are only issued to fully authorized recipients.

GeoCode™: The Most Sophisticated Spoof-Proof Site Seal
The Verified Domain Site seal is designed to be attractive and spoof-proof. Each seal is served dynamically to the registered web site, and contains a GeoCode -- a randomly generated color and number pattern that changes frequently and can be verified by clicking through to the GeoTrust web site to verify that it matches the official GeoCode. Each time a visitor accesses a Registered Member site, GeoTrust will check its database to ensure that the site is still in good standing, and then dynamically push out a site seal for display on that site. The code ensures end-users that they are getting Information in “real-time”, not from a static or spoofed seal. Visitors are encouraged to click on the seal to find out additional information about the site, verify business contact information and review the GeoTrust Registered Member pledge.
